I’ve been reading a lot of short stories recently. As Rob spent about 15 hours having therapy for his fractured elbow and I had to drive him to his appointments for a while, I had a lot of time to sit and just read.
I got through The Penguin Book of English Short Stories which I really enjoyed. Then I was leant a copy of The Garden Party by Katherine Mansfield. This was in French, but what was nice was that one of her Stories, The Voyage, was in the Penguin book too. I finished that one and then I moved onto The Second Book of English Short Stories. Rob has gone back to work so I’ve slowed down a lot.
Next up: Eat Pray Love. I asked Dom for it for my birthday in September, but she found one for me at a brocante/boot sale/garage sale for 1€. It’s a bit tatty, but as long as the words are all there I don’t care.

I have just eaten prayed and loved whilst on holiday, now praying that I can loose the pound or two which seems to have settled round my waist. Darn delicious French food...
I loved the book until near the end, I felt like throwing it across the room but it was on my Kindle. One disadvantage of a Kindle! A one euro book would have been handy. Let us know what you think of it.
The Garden Party was one of last years holiday reads, are you stalking me!?
Still say you should get a Kindle. ;)

Caroline: Perhaps you've explained why the book was so tatty. I can't think what must have gone wrong...
All will be revealed to me soon.
Don: Do you have shares in Amazon or something? Seriously, I can see the advantages of having one

I hope he gets better soon Anji. And thank God for the short stories...
No, but I HIGHLY enjoy mine, and think it is a GREAT space saver! And with all the free books you can get for it, in almost any taste, it is a smart purchase!
I have well over 600 books on mine, not counting the over 100 I have read in the past 8 months! And I carry all 600+ books with me all the time!

Ugochi: He's all better now thanks
Friar Don: i'm wondering if you're an Amazon affiliate!
Yes, I am an Amazon Affiliate, but you will notice, no such link my post about it! I'm an AVID reader. I read any and all chances I can get, be it on line or on paper or in my Kindle. I carry my Kindle with me everywhere I go just in case I have a minute or two to read. :) It is SOOOOOO much easier than paperbacks, hard backs, etc. And it saves trees, etc. I HIGHLY recommend them!
