O Captain! My Captain!

Robin McLaurin Williams 1951 - 2014

Rob woke me up at around 3 am. to tell me that Robin Williams was dead. Our family spent many happy hours enjoying his films. My favourite has always been 'Dead Poets Society'

Strangely this is the one segment of the one film, not mentioned in any reports, which came to mind immediately. Someone else posted the clip and it had me in tears.

I have spent so long under a dark depression in previous decades that I know just how close suicide can be. Active projects could distract but the empty times between let the darkness seep in. His mind was so quick it must have needed an enormous amount of distraction to keep him in the light...

Great talent lost.

I liked this film as well.
Funny ... I always thought this man was deeper than he seemed on the surface.
I was always afraid for him and now you see... here we are.

Coline: I held one of my sons in my arms as he told me he wanted to die. Depression is not to be taken lightly.

A Lady's Life: I think that some of us can see beyond the external glitter. I hope that he knows that many of us will miss him, even though we didn't know him personnaly
